About

NJ Electrical Service was founded 1998, in Montgomery County , Maryland, by Richard Reid and Onesimus Daniel. NJ Electrical Service was a “Home Grown” business that, within a year, had accumulated so many accounts that there was no choice but to move to a commercial space. At first, Richard focused on the installing fans and switches in residential properties. He was soon recognized for his proficiency, timeliness and expertise. Today, NJ Electrical Service offers Electrical, Data Cabling, Power Quality and Project Management services to an ever-expanding marketplace. NJ Electrical Service now serves the electrical service needs of customers in the DC/MD/VA area. Exceptional service is still the cornerstone of the NJ Electrical Service philosophy. We take pride in delivering a unique brand of service that goes above and beyond. A step beyond the customer’s expectations and a step beyond other companies.

So I called NJ to come out and check out an electrical issue I was experiencing in my home, went to voicemail. I left a message, asked them to call me back--which they did...at 10pm during the week which was wierd but I needed the work done asap. I was told by Richard that he "may or may not" be able to make it out during the holiday (labor day) weekend--so I wrote him off thinking that I wouldn't hear back from him. I then get a TEXT MESSAGE on Sat from an unknown number asking me if I was home? Lo' and behold Saturday at around 1300hrs I get a call from Richard saying that he was at my house. Once again, irked, but in desperate need of repair I meet him at the door.
Richard is not the most "social" guy. Didn't greet me with a smile, no hand shake, very cold actually--which was pretty awkward considering that I was only being as courteous to him as I woud with anybody. Anyway, long story short. I got charged twice, and I'm still having electrical issues. The rest of you must've got a well medicated electrician, becuase the one I got sucked.

Richard came out on a Sunday at 11am -- one of the coldest Sunday mornings we've had -- after our furnace stopped working Saturday night. It was obvious that it was an electrical issue and not a furnace issue because the lights in the furnace room also would come on and the circuit hadn't been tripped.

Within five minutes he had diagnosed the problem and even though it was $125 for first half an hour/diagnosis period, the total bill was onlty $179 and that included parts that he had in his truck.
Excellent work, would recommend to anyone, especially if you have weekend/emergency work needed.
